Ruth Fazal

Ruth Fazal is a musician (violinist primarily) from Canada who started to study with Ulpan Aviv in June 2010. We can all remember the day when Ruth entered the Ulpan, eyes full of passion to learn. During the initial evaluation of her Hebrew level, Ruth explained how eager she was to start a journey with Hebrew after having done some lessons here and there. Starting in Level Bet, Ruth continued and progressed more and more with her studies. After taking the Aviv course (10 days) in Jerusalem, Ruth signed up for the Ulpan Aviv on-line program so that she could continue learn from her home in Canada. Taking more and more courses, and visiting Israel for another intensive course in March 2011, Ruth is now able to express herself in Hebrew, writing essays (beautiful) about her fascinating experiences and ideas, master the grammar system in Hebrew, and more. All of Ruth’s fields of interest, such as Israeli/Jewish music, Texts, and even some prayers, were and continue to be taken into consideration in designing her curriculum.

We are all very proud of Ruth; for her incredible deeds for Israel and especially for Holocaust survivors, and for her great progress and consistency in her studies. Your motivation is an inspiration to all of us.
